⚡️”Project Pack is freaking awesome! I love it! We're going to be building all of our processes around it." —Ed Ellingham Hey Reader, In yesterday's email, we dove into the reasons why clients are willing to pay for a proposal (or what we call a Paid Discovery session). Today, I want to give you a behind-the-scenes look at how we structure and deliver our high-value consulting projects using templates from this pack. You see, the Paid Discovery Edition of Project Pack isn't just a collection of templates—it's a proven system we've used to land 5-figure consulting gigs. And I'm going to walk you through how it all works (words highlighted in yellow are templates included in the pack). Step 1: Onboarding and researchAfter we send out the Roadmapping Services Guide and the client has paid their Invoice, we send a short Non-Disclosure Agreement, Getting Started Guide, and a comprehensive Intake Questionnaire. This goes through every aspect of where their business is now and where they want it to be. It's detailed, but we don't expect the client to be able to answer everything. In fact, we use the gaps in the questionnaire to help us plan out our Roadmapping session. Step 2: Conduct a live Roadmapping session (this is the paid discovery)We then set up a time to do our live Roadmapping session. We send a Roadmapping Agenda and a How To Prepare For Roadmapping Checklist so they know what to expect. The session can be in-person or on a call, and you can use the Roadmapping Skeleton document to guide you through the workshop, ensuring you fill in any gaps and get all the information you need to write your report and/or proposal. Step 3: Prepare a written report (this is the proposal)In our agency, we actually write 2 reports. One is the Roadmapping Report, which gives the client our recommendations for their business. The other is a Proposal where we outline what, from the recommendations, we could handle and how much that would cost. Depending on how you plan to run your paid discovery sessions, you can go straight to the proposal or use a combination of both reports like ours. We've provided both in Project Pack, so you can do either. But that's not all, we've included some bonus templates, too...In Project Pack: Paid Discovery Edition, we go beyond 'just' paid discovery. We've also included our most commonly used templates from our consulting projects, like:
But here's the thing: You don't need to be a seasoned consultant to benefit from this pack. In fact, it can be the perfect stepping stone for web designers, copywriters, developers, and any other service provider who wants to start earning more. Consider this: Even if you use the Paid Discovery templates to offer one $500 session and do one per week (easily doable when you have the right systems in place), that's an extra $2,000 per month—$22,000 per year! It's a low-risk way to dip your toes into consulting and demonstrate your value. And the beauty is you can keep adding new services and documents from the pack as you grow. It's a system that can work for small businesses all the way up to landing those $10k+ contracts. If you're ready to start landing bigger, more profitable projects, you need to check out the Paid Discovery Edition of Project Pack. But remember, this 30% discount ends on Sunday at 11:59pm EST. 👉 Get Project Pack: Paid Discovery Edition and SAVE 30%! (Was As always, if you have any questions about the pack (or paid discovery), I'm on hand to help. --Laura 💥 “Frankly I haven’t found any better templates individually. Certainly none of the templates I've tried offer the comprehensive-ness of the Paid Discovery Edition. It's a game-changer. And it's easily worth 20x what I have paid for it in terms of the confidence and peace-of-mind I have when I use the templates with the clients.” —Jay Sennett |

Hey Reader, After the recent demo video, quite a few people got in touch asking for a closer look at the portal I used as an example. So I've written it up properly, with a live version you can click around in and a template you can download and import straight into Client Portal. 👉 Take a look at the portal and download the template It's built around a web design project, so if that's the kind of work you do it should be pretty useful as a starting point. But even if it isn't, it's a decent...
Hey Reader, That was quicker than expected. The update is live 🥳 you can grab it now from your WordPress dashboard. If you'd like a full walkthrough of what's new, I put together a short video here. For everyone else, here's the TLDR: Better theme compatibility This has been a pain point for a lot of you. We've added CSS isolation for non-block themes and page builders, so your portal should now display correctly regardless of what theme you're running. If this has been causing you grief,...
Hey Reader, For years, I used Client Portal to host Client Portal's own documentation. It worked well - showed off how flexible the product is, and honestly it looked good. But as the product grew and the documentation got more complex, I needed something built specifically for documentation. Search functionality, version tracking, that sort of thing. So I've moved everything over to a dedicated documentation platform (👋 FernDesk), and the difference is significant. 👉 Take me to the new docs!...
